Our goal for this blend was to create a coffee that does well in both hot and cold brewing methods. 

 

We taste light tropical fruit, semisweet chocolate, and orange zest. Steeping this coffee for about 19 hours allows for the flavors to fully round out, creating a well-balanced cold brew.

 

 

 

Barista notes:

 

Cold brew preparation:

-5 pounds coarse grind

-13.2 Litres cold water

-Steep 19 hours

-Cut with water (1:1 ratio)

     - For 12oz, use 3oz CB concentrate : 3oz water

     - For 16oz, use 4oz CB concentrate : 4oz water

-Add ice & serve

 

-If you want to do a smaller batch, divide Litres / pounds --> 13.2 / 5 = 2.64

-Therefore, for every 1 pound of coffee = 2.64 Litres water

-So, for example, using this formula for a 3 pound batch --> 3 x 2.64 = 7.92 Litres

 

*Note: cutting the CB concentrate shortens the expiration date

-Uncut = 10 days

-Cut = 3 days

 

Flash brew preparation:

-120 grams ice in a Chemex/V60

-30 grams medium-coarse grind

-300 grams water at 200F

-Finish brew ~3 minutes

-Pour into 16oz cup, add ice to top & enjoy
